HOW TO MAXIMISE THE POTENTIAL OF A SEED – Part 4
The right planting technique and management principle Matthew 13:24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” God is a God of process therefore due diligence is required for you to maximise the potential of your seed. The bible says that through wisdom a house is built. After you know your seed, -find the right soil to plant the seed and know the right planting season for your seed, -then you need to employ the right planting technique and management principle. Each seed has a specific method of planting and management to yield maximum harvest. You need to develop your gift from raw stage to refined stage. God never give anyone refined gold he gives everyone raw gold and leaves you with the responsibility to refine the gold and manage it well. Jesus the saviour of the world was born as a baby and not as a grown man and the bible says in Luke 2:52 – And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men. So take time to grow and develop your gift. You cannot ignore or break the law of process and expect maximum returns. Personal development is the best form of development. Keys -Seek advice: Do research on people that have gifts, talents and calling similar to yours and learn from them. Learn why and how they succeed and fail. Learn their habit and how they become highly effective. In people’s story, therein lie their secret of success. Remember if you don’t have references, you will never become a point of reference. Understanding the seasonsEcclesiastes 3:1-2 – To everything there is a season, a time for every purposeunder heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time topluck what is planted. Genesis 8:22 – “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat,Winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Life is in phases and the stages of life are determined by seasons. The ability to discern the seasons helps you to know when to plant your seed andwhat type of seed to plant. After you have discovered your seed (gifts, talents and abilities) and have found asuitable soil condition to plant your seed, you also need to know the righttime/season to plant your seed. Please be aware that a good seed planted in a good soil but in the wrong season or climate would not yield any harvest. There isa season to plant and there is a season to reap.If you miss the planting season, then you have to wait until the next plantingseason. So with respect to your seed (gifts, talents and ability), you need the rightseason to invest them. You don’t start a Christmas sale in mid-year.Ask God for wisdom to know the right time for you to launch out with the gift hehas given you. I pray that you will be at the right place, at the right time and youwill meet the right people that would recognise and appreciate your gifts, talentand ability. When preparation meets opportunity, we call it breakthrough. You will not missyour season. Scriptures for further study:Ecclecesiates 9:11 1 Chronicles 12:32 – From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of thetribe with their relatives. All these men understood the temper of the times andknew the best course for Israel to take. Personal declaration for the day: May God help me discern my season and to plant the right seed. HOW TO MAXIMISE THE POTENTIAL OF A SEED – PART 2 Find the right soil condition to plant your seedMatthew 13:3-93 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sowhis seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birdscame and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. Itsprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, theplants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seedfell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell ongood soil, where it produced a crop–a hundred, sixty or thirty times what wassown. 9 He who has ears, let him hear.” Each seed grow in different soil condition. It is the responsibility of the farmer toknow the best soil condition for his crops and plant them in it.From the above scripture we can see that it is where you place your seed thatdetermines the outcome of the seed. The sower went to plant the same seed. All the seed have the same potential but the soil condition/location determinedtheir level of productivity. So you cannot afford to plant your seed in any soil because there are differentkinds of soil. Every seed has the suitable condition that would enable it tomaximise its potential. No seed can maximise its potential in an unfavourable soil condition. While it is true that God has given you a seed, you have to find the right soilcondition to plant your seed for it to grow and produce maximum harvest. For example:your gifts and talents will not flourish in a place where people don’t believe inyou.Jesus could do no mighty works in his hometown because they did not believe inhim. You don’t invest your money in a business you don’t believe in.For any seed to grow, the condition must be right. Q, Are you investing your talents, gifts and resources in the right place ? Q, what radical step do you need to take for a change? 1 Corinthians 15:33 do not be deceived, bad company corrupts good character. Solution:In humility, Seek much advice from those who have succeeded in your desiredfield.Even if you think you know better. Why advice?-The successful persons have walked the journey and understand the howsbetter.-Also because the wisest man(Solomon) repeatedly appeals for advice to success. HOW TO MAXIMISE THE POTENTIAL OF A SEED – PART 1
2 Corinthians 9:10 –Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply andmultiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, Matthew 13:8 – But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some ahundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. If God wants to bless you with a forest, He gives you a seed and leaves you withthe responsibility to plant the seed in right soil condition, water it and preventweeds from overpowering it.He will then bless the seed by making it germinate and multiply it.But if you do not find a suitable soil condition to plant your seed, water it andnurture it, the potential that God has put in the seed will never be realised.God has given everyone a seed in form of gifts, talents, abilities, funds etc.It is however, our responsibility to invest these seeds in the right places andnurture the seed to grow.God is willing to give the increase but he needs us to cooperate with him. The following are some ways to maximise the potential of the seed that God hasgiven you:- Know your seed it is important that you know what God has given you. You must know what youhave.2 Kings 4:2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you havein your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a littleoil.”Reality:This woman was in debt and the debtors were about to take her children as slaveworkers in order for them to pay the family debt.Elisha in the above asked her what she had, and all she had was a pot of oil and apot of oil was enough for God to multiply. You have something that God canmultiply, so know your seed and never belittle it.Your future harvest is in your seed.Q, My question now is what are the seeds that God has given you,?Q, what are your gifts, talents, resources, relationships that God has given ?Q, Do you value them in their raw state?Q, Can you see the possibility inherent in them ?your future is in your seed don’t disregard it ,value it. Scriptures for further study Mathew 13:1-23 Personal declaration for the day God gave me a seed and I recognise it and value it. coachOwidi @ Coachowidi.org
