Understanding the seasons
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 – To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose
under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to
pluck what is planted.
Genesis 8:22 – “While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat,
Winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”
Life is in phases and the stages of life are determined by seasons.
The ability to discern the seasons helps you to know when to plant your seed and
what type of seed to plant.
After you have discovered your seed (gifts, talents and abilities) and have found a
suitable soil condition to plant your seed, you also need to know the right
time/season to plant your seed. Please be aware that a good seed planted in a
good soil but in the wrong season or climate would not yield any harvest. There is
a season to plant and there is a season to reap.
If you miss the planting season, then you have to wait until the next planting
season. So with respect to your seed (gifts, talents and ability), you need the right
season to invest them.
You don’t start a Christmas sale in mid-year.
Ask God for wisdom to know the right time for you to launch out with the gift he
has given you. I pray that you will be at the right place, at the right time and you
will meet the right people that would recognise and appreciate your gifts, talent
and ability.
When preparation meets opportunity, we call it breakthrough. You will not miss
your season.
Scriptures for further study:
Ecclecesiates 9:11
1 Chronicles 12:32 – From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the
tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the temper of the times and
knew the best course for Israel to take.
Personal declaration for the day:
May God help me discern my season and to plant the right seed.
